FAQ'S FOR COMMISSIONING A PAINTING OF YOUR PET

Price- COVID SPECIAL $200  (Usually $350 to $500)  Tipping is allowed.

Deposit- None! You don't pay a cent until you see the finished piece and approve. I am happy to tweak the painting if anything doesn't look right. By the way, before I even start your painting, I will send you a photo of what it will look like for approval; this is the photo that I will be painting your pet from -but more on that below...

Sizes- 18 by 24", 16 by 20", 18 by 12", 18 by 18", 20 by 20" (I don't usually work much smaller)  Same price.

How long?- About a week or two but I can do rush jobs.

Passed or present? - Yeah I've gotten this question a few times.  Yes I paint pets that are living, or ones that have passed. (I'm sure it's from the wording in some of my ads, so I understand.   ;-)

Photos A- Send me as many as you want so we can decide which would make the best painting. Silly ones don't work. Photos should have your pet in more "classic" poses like the examples on this page. Don't have any good ones? Well, use your phone and take a bunch, unless he's passed. Tip- Don't take shots from above- try to keep it more level with his eyes. Outside usually works best- but not always.

Photos B- Photos should be high resolution if possible. Send them to rhodecomic@gmail.com. Or you can text them to 401 368-0428, which is also where you can text me questions.

Pose- The pose of your pet in the painting depends on the photo we choose, and how we want to crop it. More often than not, I paint the head and neck area. Sometimes the full body works well as you can see in the example paintings above. And that will dictate if the canvas should be square or recangular.

Background- It can be a simple color, or perhaps a place that has some significance. (If it's VERY detailed I might have to add an extra fee, maybe $25, $50....usually not.)

Pick-up- At my swinging pad in East Greenwich at 572 Main St. across from Starbucks.

Payment- Cash is preferred.  Checks are ok too....make out to Charlie Hall.

Framing- That's all you. You  can get one from a Michael's or A.C Moore-type place and do it yourself. However your pet my deserve a custom framing job. My friend Sandi Watkins does exactly this in the New Bedford area, and his given me discount certificates to hand out to YOU! She'll help you choose the right color and style that will look best on your wall.
