ABOUT CHARLIE HALL
Charlie Hall graduated from RI School of Design in 1978 with a BFA in Illustration, and then promptly began a career in stand-up comedy that thrilled his tuition-paying parents. In a career that has spanned 40 years, Charlie did pretty well as a comic. He was honored to be the first person inducted into the RI Comedy Hall of Fame. He's had national TV appearances on Star Search, the Joan Rivers Show, and Evening at the Improv....and he has opened for Jerry Seinfeld, Chicago, Sam Kinison, Frankie Valli, Reba McIntire, Charlie Daniels, and many more. Charlie is maybe best known as the creator of the long running Ocean State Follies comedy cabaret poking fun at RI through lol skits and song parodies. Other productions of his include the RI Comedy Fest, Mass Hysteria, and "Aging Disgracefully" with Doreen Collins- a comedy spoof on the foibles of growing old. He's also an award-winning political cartoonist, TV news courtroom artist, and publisher of 4 books including an Amazon best-seller called “Electile Dysfunction," an adult comedy coloring book satirizing the 2016 elections. In 2013 he started a successful paint and wine company called Drink and Dabble that which received a BEST OF award from RI Monthly Magazine. In 2017, Charlie founded the 1st annual North Providence Art Fest. Later that year, he was awarded 2nd place in the annual “Abstract Painting Show” from the prestigious Wickford Art Association. Oh, and If all this weren't enough, in 1995 Charlie penned the words for an original song called "Rhode Island’s It For Me" that is now the "official state song" of Rhode Island.
